Somali Defense Minister Praises Turkish Support Ahead of Defense Industry Expo
Somali Defense Minister has highlighted the significant role that Turkey plays in building and developing Somalia’s army, as well as in combating the extremist group Khawarij. “Our Turkish brothers play a major role in building our army, developing it, and fighting the Khawarij,” he stated.
The upcoming Defense Industry Products Exhibition, scheduled for May 29-30, will feature products from 47 defense companies. This event will allow participating countries to observe the capabilities of the Turkish defense industry firsthand.
The exercise associated with the exhibition will demonstrate a wide range of Turkish defense systems, including drones, helicopters, warships, ammunition, electronic warfare systems, and radar systems, all designed to support security forces.
Over 1,500 foreign personnel from 50 countries, alongside 11,000 personnel from the Turkish Armed Forces, will participate in the exercise, showcasing the strength and innovation of Turkey’s defense sector.
