Government forces and the Jubbaland administration engaged in combat with Al-Shabaab militants on Wednesday evening in the Bulo Haji area of the Lower Jubba region. The clash occurred following an attack on the town that had been recaptured from the group two days prior.
Reports from local sources indicated brief but intense fighting, with both sides deploying heavy and light weapons. Despite this, the official casualty figures remain unknown, as neither the military nor the Jubbaland command have released statements regarding the losses.
The confrontation took place during a visit by Jubbaland officials, including Second Vice President Abdiqadir Haji Mohamud, who had arrived in Bulo Haji the previous day. The officials encouraged the army to persist in their operations against Al-Shabaab.
