Somali military forces, aided by international allies, carried out an airstrike in the Galgadud region, resulting in the elimination of multiple al-Shabab insurgents and the obliteration of their strongholds.
State-affiliated media outlets reported on Saturday that the airstrike was directed at the insurgents’ positions in the El-Wadalan area, situated within the Gal’ad district of the Galgadud region.
Additionally, the forces dismantled another insurgent enclave in the Lower Shabelle region, although precise details were not disclosed by state-linked media.
Three weeks prior, the Somali government declared that over 25 militants were neutralized in an attack in central Somalia. The airstrike decimated a residence where the group’s leaders were convening and a workshop utilized for crafting vehicular explosives in the Galhareri district town.
