On Sunday, Somalia’s 64th Independence Day and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Qatar were celebrated at a reception in Doha, hosted by the Somali embassy. The event highlighted the enduring relationship between the two nations.
Ambassador Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh Ali was accompanied by Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Cabinet Member HE Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi, Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Department of Protocol director ambassador HE Ibrahim Fakhroo, and the Diplomatic Corps dean and Eritrean ambassador Ali Ibrahim Ahmed. Together, they cut a ceremonial cake to mark the momentous occasion, underscoring the significance of the diplomatic ties between Somalia and Qatar.
