Intense Fighting in Gaza Displaces 800,000 from Rafah

Philippe Lazzarini, head of UNRWA, reported that nearly 800,000 Palestinians have been displaced from Rafah since Israel began its offensive last week. Lazzarini highlighted the severe and repeated displacement Palestinians face, often leaving them without safety or basic necessities.

Saturday’s fighting resulted in dozens of Palestinian deaths, with significant casualties reported in Jabalia, Khan Younis, and the Nuseirat refugee camp. The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed 83 deaths in 24 hours.

Despite international warnings, Israel’s assault on Rafah continues, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis as residents struggle to find safe refuge amid ongoing violence.
