Several people were hurt after a fight broke out between Southwest State Darwish forces and clan militia forces in the Bardale district of the Bay region on Saturday.
Residents said the heavy fighting started after the clan militia launched a strong attack on army positions in the district.
The militia forces had been kicked out of the district by security forces last month. This new attack happened after peace talks between the two sides failed.
Last month, Somali police in Southwest State removed ten illegal checkpoints in the Bardale district, where militias had been taking money from vehicles and residents.
