Police in Mogadishu Detain Female Trader and Brother in Connection with Fatal Stabbing

In Mogadishu’s Hodan district, Somali police have arrested a female trader and her brother for the fatal stabbing of another businessman inside the local six-story market. The victim, Mohamed Ahmed Abdirahman, also known as Biriq, was attacked amid a dispute with the suspects, who own a neighboring business center. The exact cause of the altercation remains elusive.

According to an eyewitness, the woman and her brother instigated the altercation, engaging in a physical confrontation with the victim and ultimately causing his death by repeatedly stabbing him with a knife.

This tragic incident adds to a wave of violence in Mogadishu, coinciding with ongoing court cases related to recent killings in the city. Among these cases is that of Sayid Ali Moalin Daoud, who stands accused of fatally burning his wife, Luul Abdiaziz, in Mogadishu just last month.
