Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbalolshe, the Director of the Somali National Security and Intelligence Agency (NISA), met with residents and traditional elders in Beledweyne on Saturday to strengthen the fight against al-Shabab.
The director, accompanied by members of the Somali Parliament and other elders, arrived in Beledweyne ahead of the inauguration of Ugas Yusuf Ugas Hassan Ugas Khalif, chief of the Hawadle clans, scheduled for May 13.
During the meeting, they discussed the overall security situation in the Hiran region and strategies to intensify operations against al-Shabab. Sanbaloshe stressed the importance of cooperation between the government and the community to eliminate terrorist threats in the region.
Members of the Federal Parliament, traditional elders, and community groups expressed their commitment to enhancing their role in fulfilling the government’s promise to eradicate terrorism across the country.
