In a tragic incident on Friday night, a Somali police officer named Adan Omar Ahmed, known as Adan Biit, was fatally shot by an armed assailant inside a restaurant near the School Polizia camp in Mogadishu.
The perpetrator managed to flee the scene before the arrival of law enforcement, and as of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder.
Abdulaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, leader of the Southwest administration, and former President of Somalia, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, have both strongly condemned the killing and called for an immediate and thorough investigation.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
