Somali Prime Minister Urges Kenyan Business Community for Joint Development

Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre met with Somali businessmen in Kenya to talk about working together for the betterment of both countries.

Prime Minister Barre said it’s important to invest more in Somalia and create jobs for Somali youth. He asked Somali businessmen in Kenya to help with this.

“I want businessmen to invest in Somalia and create jobs. This is a good chance to benefit from being part of the East African Community (EAC), which gives access to new markets and helps economic growth,” he said.

Somalia and Kenya recently signed agreements to work more closely together on trade and investment. They want to improve both countries’ economies.

In a meeting with Kenya’s Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Minister Barre talked about fighting against illegal businesses and making trade fairer.

Kenya and Somalia agreed to make it easier for people and goods to move between the two countries. They also want to encourage investment and find new markets that both countries can benefit from.
