The Chief of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Sulub Ahmed Firin, alongside other police officials, attended the swearing-in ceremony for 300 new police officers at the General Kahiye Police Academy in Mogadishu on Monday.
Brigadier General Sulub Ahmed Firin expressed that the freshly trained police would play a crucial role in ensuring the security of Mogadishu during the holy month of Ramadan.
“The inclusion of these officers into the police force underscores the ongoing endeavors to bolster law enforcement capabilities within the nation. As they pledge their commitment, the new force stands poised to uphold the law and safeguard the people of Somalia,” he remarked.
The newly trained officers demonstrated their proficiency in a parade. This graduation ceremony comes a week subsequent to another graduation of the Somali National Army (SNA) Gorgor Brigade, who underwent military training at the TURKSOM Military Academy.
President Mohamud underscored that the government’s foremost priority is to revamp the National Army, which serves as the bedrock of the country’s governance, and to achieve decisive victory in the fight against terrorism.
