Turkish Warship Arrives in Mogadishu to Mark 10-Year Agreement

Turkish Navy Ship Kınalıada F514 docked at Mogadishu Sea Port on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone following the signing of a defense and economic agreement between Somalia and Turkey in February 2024.

To commemorate the decade-long partnership, Somali government leaders are expected to participate in a special event aboard the ship.

This marks the first arrival of a Turkish warship at Mogadishu Port, symbolizing the beginning of the 10-year agreement with Somalia.

In February, Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre announced that Turkey would assist in building, training, and equipping the Somali navy, emphasizing Turkey’s role as a “true and reliable brother.
